Gunfight at Mississippi festival leaves one dead, five injured
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said one person was killed and five others were injured in an incident involving multiple shooters at the Bug Festival at the Jackson State Fair. Writes about it ABC News.

At least two people were detained at the scene for questioning. The shooting site was cordoned off and secured.
According to Jones, the deceased could have been shot by an officer after "there was a firefight between at least 2-3 people in and around the car," writes CNN.
Several law enforcement officers from various departments were working at the event and responded to the gunshots around 22 p.m., the sheriff said.

“We believe a law enforcement officer was involved in the victim’s death,” Jones said. “We believe that the deceased was actively involved in the incident.”
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist with the investigation following the April 30 shooting, Jones said.
Officers found at least one vehicle, two rifles and one pistol that they believed were related to the shooting.
“We don’t know at this time what the motive is or what exactly happened,” Jones said, noting that the investigation is ongoing. “We will find out exactly what happened.” We will find out who is involved in this and they must be held accountable for this."

According to him, several people were taken to local hospitals.
"The victims are currently in a stable condition and do not appear to be directly related to the shooting or the circumstances that led to the shooting," the sheriff said.
The Mississippi Bug Festival, scheduled to run through May 1 and included live bands, carnival rides and other entertainment, was closed prematurely.
