Fraud, theft, violation of the law: what accusations have the US brought against Huawei

The US Department of Justice filed charges against Huawei, including the theft of commercial secrets, writes RTVi.

The ministry made the allegations against the Chinese technology giant, its two subsidiaries, and one top manager. We are talking about charges of banking fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud using electronic means, violation of the Law on International Emergency Economic Powers, as well as violation of US sanctions against Iran.

A separate case was filed in the state of Washington, according to which the company is accused of stealing a commercial secret T-Mobile.

16 in January, the Wall Street Journal, citing sources, has already reported that in the United States, the authorities launched an investigation into Huawei on charges of stealing trade secrets from American business partners.

In early December, 2018 of the year in Vancouver, at the request of the United States, detained the Huawei financial director. She is suspected of violating trade sanctions against Iran. Later, a court in Canada released it on bail of Canadian dollars 10 million (about $ 7,4 million). A meeting on the Wanzhou case will take place on February 6.

In November of the same year, the US accused a company controlled by the Chinese government for stealing trade secrets. The Justice Ministry then reported that the company could steal from the American semiconductor company Micron Technology secret data on DRAM technology, the cost of which is estimated at $ 8,75 billion.

Huawei denies that the company has committed any of the violations it is accused of in the United States.
