And now, more than a year after the inauguration, Michelle Obama decided to reveal this secret in the show. Ellen DeGeneres writes CNN.

“At such events there is always a protocol. It's like a state visit, so they tell you that you should do this and they will stand there, etc. I've never received gifts like this before, so my reaction was something like, “Okay, what should I do?” with this gift?,” Michelle Obama said, explaining her facial expression after receiving the box.

She added that all White House staff were inside during the meeting and no one came out to pick up the box. Michelle already thought that she would have to take a photo with her, but then Barack saved the situation - he took the box and took it inside the White House.

According to Obama, there was a “charming frame” in the box.
