Millionaire from America offered to create a state for refugees

American millionaire of Jewish origin, Jason Buzi, who sells real estate in San Francisco, proposed to create a new state where refugees from any countries can live. The businessman expects that his idea, if implemented, will be a radical solution to the issue of internally displaced persons around the world.

To implement her project “Nation of Refugees”, Buzi proposes to purchase unused lands from countries or create new bulk islands in the sea. According to the millionaire, such states as Indonesia or the Dominican Republic may want to sell a part of their territory. Buzi hopes that the country will be able to become a new home for 59,5 millions of refugees from around the world.

As a successful example of such a project in recent centuries, a millionaire calls Israel. “Israel was essentially founded as a country of refugees, though only Jewish refugees,” said Buzi. He also noted that although the proposal to create a new state may seem too ambitious, but at the moment it is the only logical practical solution to the existing problem.

It is noted that a businessman spent about fifteen thousand dollars to create a website and an advertising campaign dedicated to a new project.

The Buzi initiative already had opponents. So, the former adviser to the Australian government on refugee issues, Harry Minas, called the millionaire’s plan absurd. He noted that the Buzi project resembles the ideas of leprosarium islands, where patients with leprosy (leprosy) are sent so that they do not come into contact with healthy people.
