Trump's migration decree will take effect on June 29

The US State Department 26 said June that 72 hours after the decision of the Supreme Court will begin to implement a temporary ban on the entry into the US of citizens of six predominantly Muslim countries, as stipulated by the decree of President Donald Trump. This means that such measures will take effect on the morning of June 29.

The State Department will implement the ban in an "orderly manner," according to the Supreme Court's order, reports "Voice of America"with reference to the press secretary of the US State Department.

“We are also in contact with our partners in the United States Refugee Admissions Program and will keep them informed of changes as they take effect,” said Heather Nauert.

Earlier, the US Supreme Court saidthat will consider the case on the immigration decree of President Donald Trump, but for now most of the provisions of the decree may come into force.

The updated version of Trump's presidential decree prohibits citizens of six countries with a predominantly Muslim population from entering the country for 90 days and for the 120 days suspends the refugee program. According to the decree, these measures are necessary to review the process of checking people entering the country in order to protect it from external threats.

Decree was blocked prohibitive orders of the two courts, from the states of Hawaii and Maryland. Both rulings were upheld by the appellate courts.

However, the Supreme Court preferred a more selective approach, allowing the entry ban for citizens of Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, as well as to suspend the reception of refugees.

At the same time, the judges stated that the entry ban could not apply to “foreign nationals claiming on good faith the existence of a good faith relationship with a natural or legal person in the United States”.

The court defines such relationships: for individuals, these are family ties, for students - admission to a college or university, for employees - a proposal for admission to work.

The judges are expected to consider the entry ban case in the fall, but they noted that they will also discuss whether the case is still relevant at that time. The measures prescribed in the decree are declared as temporary: it is assumed that they will act as long as the government revises the security protocols.

Three of the most conservative-minded judges expressed partial disagreement with the decision. Judge Clarence Thomas, speaking also on behalf of Judges Neal Gorsach and Samuel Alito, expressed doubt whether it would be possible to ensure partial observance of the decree.
