Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has prepared sanctions against Russia because of the Crimea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has prepared a package of economic sanctions against Russia. This was stated by Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin on the ICTV channel.
“The package of sanctions is ready, I personally sent them to the Cabinet of Ministers with my signature, I really hope that it will be approved in the near future,” he said.
Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine decided to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation - similar to those that Western countries have already imposed. “To increase pressure on Russia, the National Security and Defense Council decided on the mandatory application on the territory of Ukraine of sanctions imposed by the EU countries, the Swiss Confederation, the United States and the G7 countries regarding the Russian Federation and made proposals to strengthen them,” the NSDC said in a statement.
In December 2014, the EU and the US introduced new economic sanctions against Russia in relation to investment, tourism, transport, telecommunications and energy industries, prospecting, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources.
