American paid with his life for trying to save a puppy
In Tennessee, an animal lover was mortally wounded in an attempt to save a puppy from its soulless owner.
37-year-old Robert Wilson, at his hotel room in Smyrna, saw a man grabbed by the throat and strangling a Yorkshire terrier. He tried to stop the killing of the animal.
“Why are you doing this?” Wilson asked. In response, the dog strangler shot him and ran away.
Mortally wounded Wilson was discovered by his hotel neighbor Sue Hoskins. Wilson just moved to Iowa from Tennessee and temporarily stayed at the hotel. He called Sue Hoskins a few minutes before he saw the dog strangler.
“I ran there and saw Robert say,“ Why are you doing this? ”Said Hoskins, who witnessed the shooting.
Another witness rushed to help, trying to stop the bleeding from Wilson's wound. The man was taken to the TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, where he later died.
The father of the deceased, Rick Wilson, said that his son always loved animals, and he had a "golden heart". He plans to engrave the image of a dog on his son's tombstone.
35-year-old Jerome Drennon, who strangled the dog, himself surrendered to police four days after the attack. He was charged with first-degree murder. He can be released on bail in $ 200 000.
As for the rescued puppy, he is now at the center of the animals of Rutherford County PAWS and is looking for new owners.
