Kremlin: Trump handed over a plan of complete reconciliation between Russia and the United States

A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed the information that the Kremlin had handed over a plan to the rapid restoration of relations between Russia and the United States to the administration of US President Donald Trump. Reported by a correspondent RBC.

“Yes, of course, such proposals in various formats were submitted to the American side. Russia has consistently advocated for continuation of the dialogue <...> but, unfortunately, did not receive reciprocity,” Peskov said. “There was a summary proposal there, in parts, and through diplomatic channels. This is a common practice of diplomatic work,” the presidential press secretary noted.

Eve edition Buzzfeed reported that the Kremlin has conveyed to the Trump administration a plan for a quick and full-scale restoration of bilateral relations. The publication studied the settlement plan, which was handed over to Trump in the third month of his term as president of the United States.

The White House and the State Department did not say who exactly handed them the document, but did not deny its authenticity. The Russian embassy in Washington declined to comment on "closed bilateral negotiations."

According to Andrew Weiss, vice president for research at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the document is a roadmap for normalizing relations between Moscow and Washington. It dealt with the full restoration of diplomatic and military channels of communication, as well as contacts between intelligence services.

Also in the framework of the plan to restore relations, it was planned to hold a meeting of the special representative of the Russian president on cybersecurity, Andrei Krutskikh and his colleagues from the United States. They were supposed to discuss issues of "information security."

Also in Moscow’s plans were to hold a series of talks, including on Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear program, the Ukrainian crisis and the conflict on the Korean Peninsula. In addition, it was supposed to organize meetings of the leaders of the CIA and the FBI, the US National Security Council and the head of the Pentagon and their colleagues from Russia.
