AT&T offers internet for $ 5 per month
AT&T is offering a new internet access service for $ 5 per month. Families with low income can get this opportunity, reports cnn.com.
It is known that such cheap access to the Internet will be received by residents of the United States, in whose family at least one member receives food stamps. The new program is called Access from AT&T. First of all, the authors of the project want to help students who, due to the lack of home Internet, cannot complete their homework. The project is also needed by US residents looking for work.
True, the Internet speed under the proposed program leaves much to be desired. The first option is 3 megabits per second (3mbps) for $5 per month. The second option is 10 megabits per second (10Mbps) for $10 per month. However, the company's employees are now working to solve this problem.
AT&T currently offers internet in over 20 states.
We add that another government initiative called ConnectALL for 2020 plans to provide Internet access for 20 million American families.
