Kohl's and Target offer great discounts for teachers and students

The end of summer can be "expensive" for both parents and teachers. School supplies purchases are on the rise - now more than ever as inflation hit a new 40-year high. But two national retailers have announced discounts for teachers and school staff. Read more about them told the publication NewsWest9.

Kohl's is offering a 25% discount to educators and school staff from Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th.

The department store chain said teachers, kindergarten and preschool teachers, high school educators and school staff are eligible to participate with valid ID.

Meanwhile, Target is bringing back an expanded version of its popular Teacher Prep event from Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, September 10. The company said educators can save 15% on school supplies and more. The promotion will be held as part of the Target Circle loyalty program.

“All teachers, educators in kindergartens and early childhood education centres, university or college professors and vocational school teachers” are eligible for a discount upon presentation of a valid ID.

The company said Target is offering a one-time discount to college students, among other things. Until September 3, eligible students can save 20% on a single purchase.

Target recently announced plans to cancel orders from suppliers, especially for home and clothing items, as well as further price cuts to clear out inventory ahead of the critical fall and holiday shopping seasons.
