Kazakhstan teenager married in turn to two schoolgirls
16-year-old teen secretly married his peers after a brief conversation on a popular social network. A month after neke (a marriage concluded according to the religious canons of Islam), the groom announced the girl Talak (divorce) and married her classmate. The incident occurred in the city of Aktobe, Republic of Kazakhstan, reports portal Tengrinews.
It is reported that the parents of both girls were not aware of what happened. The director of the Association of Centers for the Study of Religions, Yulia Denisenko, told the portal, which, in turn, learned the story from a schoolgirl who came to the center for rehabilitation after visiting radical communities.
“In my practice, very rarely the fate of girls, whose marriage began in this way, was positive. After several talaks, the girls are left alone, with a child in her arms, without education and work. This is a very serious social problem, ”said Denisenko, noting that the popularity of such express marriages is due to their simplicity.
“If in a normal civil society a girl needs to be competitive in order to marry, external data, internal qualities, education, and so on, it’s enough to indicate on the Internet that she belongs to such and such a group,” the expert emphasized.
According to the news portal, the Committee on Religious Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic called religious illiteracy the main reason for illegal marriages in Kazakhstan. In this regard, the committee recommended that the Muslim Religious Board of the country conduct marriage ceremonies in mosques in the presence of close relatives and only after citizens provide evidence of marriage.
From a religious point of view, neke permits marital relations, but in accordance with sub-paragraph 3 of Article 2 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Marriage (Marriage) and Family” is not equal to a registered marriage and does not produce corresponding legal consequences.
