Trump's election as 45 President of the United States shook the Washington establishment and created shock waves abroad, while American allies and opponents are trying to understand how far from politics a construction magnate tore a convincing victory.

President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz said that Trump's victory is undoubted and that the choice of the Americans must be respected. He also spoke about the numerous expectations on foreign policy under the Trump presidency.

“From Syria to Iraq, Ukraine to Libya, Trump's role in diplomacy and deal-making will be tested from day one and will require responsibility, restraint and leadership,” he added.

Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Donald Trump on the occasion of the victory in the election of the President of the United States of America, сообщает Putin press service.

In the telegram, V. Putin expressed hope for joint work to bring Russian-American relations out of crisis, as well as to solve topical issues on the international agenda and search for effective responses to the challenges of global security.

The President of Russia also expressed confidence that building a constructive dialogue between Moscow and Washington, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and real consideration of each other’s positions, is in the interests of the peoples of our countries and the entire world community.

Deputies of the State Duma of Russia greeted with applause the news of the victory of the Republican candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential election, RIA Novosti reports.

“Dear friends, dear colleagues, 3 minutes ago Hillary Clinton admitted her defeat in the presidential elections of the United States, and a second ago Trump began his speech as the elected president of the United States of America, on which I congratulate you all,” said international lawmaker Vyacheslav Nikonov at a meeting of the lower house of the Russian parliament. In response to his words, the deputies began to applaud.

Georgia’s ex-president and former governor of the Odessa region of Ukraine, Mikhail Saakashvili, praised the 20-year-old friendship with the new US President and called him “a strong personality with an unforeseen policy”:

“I assumed Trump would win in my book, which was written 4 months ago and came out in September. I predicted this, despite Clinton's huge lead in all the polls at the time. We are entering a very dangerous period, and, unfortunately, our government is completely unprepared,” he wrote in his Facebook.

Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked urged the winner of the US presidential elections, Donald Trump, to transfer the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“I congratulate Donald Trump, a true friend of Israel, on his election as President of the United States... This is an opportunity for the American administration to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel,” Shaked said.

She said such a move “would symbolize the close bond and deep friendship” between the United States and Israel.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, urgently removed from his Facebook page a post from 31 July 2016 of the year, in which he called presidential candidate Donald Trump “a dangerous and shameless fringe”, reports Ukranews.

European ministers and prime ministers tweeted all night about the unexpected outcome of the election. The world is waiting for the first steps of President Trump.
