Israel is attacked by giant jellyfish

In Israel, on the coast from Ashkelon to Rosh HaNikr, giant jellyfish appeared. The warm current and the wind brought huge flocks of jellyfish. Because of this, swimming in the sea has become dangerous.

Several dozen people in the area of ​​Haifa and Krayot suffered burns from jellyfish while bathing and sought medical help. Fortunately, no one developed a serious allergic reaction, so no one needed hospitalization. But doctors warn about the danger of allergic shock after jellyfish burns.

Giant jellyfish arrived in this region from the Indian Ocean after the Suez Canal was opened. Since the 70-ies, their population has become large, since then they have become permanent inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea.

The average diameter of these jellyfish is about 40 centimeters. But in Kiryat Yam they saw jellyfish with a diameter of 1 meter.
