A serial killer appeared in Detroit: police warned not to do

Detroit police said the killings of three women may be related. Investigators warned that they could deal with a serial killer.

"We don't want to cause panic," Detroit Police Chief James Craig said. “But we need more information.”

The killer - a man - appears to be targeting sex workers in their 50s.

From mid-May, there were rumors that a serial killer was operating in the center of Detroit, but the police denied the rumors, saying that “false information is being circulated” and “all this is not true”. Instead, it was reported that a suspect in the death of women has already been identified.

Craig said the latest murder is not related to other recent murder investigations, but he did not reject the possibility that there are old, unsolved rape and murder that could be associated with the same murderer.

Craig said the Department decided to warn of a possible serial killer on Wednesday, 5 June, after finding a naked female body in a wasteland near Mount Elliott. Police believe that the last death may be associated with the other two.

According to Craig, the killer lures women into empty buildings, rapes and kills them. The police chief urged women to be vigilant and not to go into buildings with anyone.

Night Angels, the non-profit group Sterling Heights, which seeks to put an end to human trafficking, said that deaths terrify women who are forced to work in unsafe conditions in the sex trade.

At the moment, one of the three bodies was found on Wednesday, June 5, and the rest of March 19 and May 24.

The body of the last victim was found naked, but there were no identifying details. It seems that she has been dead for several days, police said.

After the death of the first woman, as the police believed due to a drug overdose, a medical expert found that the victim died from a blunt trauma injury. There were no other definitions regarding the causes of death.

“We see there may be some connection,” Craig said. “When we looked at all three incidents, we found some similarities, but I won’t go into detail.”

According to Craig, all three women seemed to be working in the sex business.

“We want you to talk to us,” he said. “Any information, no matter how small, can help us identify this predator.”
