A one-year-old child on an American Airlines flight was hit on the head with an oxygen balloon

An oxygen tank that fell from the ceiling of an American Airlines plane during a landing struck the head of a one-year-old child.

The incident occurred on flight AA126 from Hong Kong to Dallas, when a one year old boy was sitting on his mother’s lap, writes Fox News.

Baby's mother, Jennifer Zanon, said that after the landing, the crew members asked her to wait at the gate to report the incident, but no one appeared to register what had happened.

«Мы стояли там, ожидая агента компании и нашей коляски, пока сам капитан не вышел из самолета и не извинился перед нами. Затем мы отправились в зону обслуживания клиентов, чтобы попытаться там сообщить об этом инциденте, и прождали полтора часа. Мы ценим извинения, но предпочли бы задокументировать инцидент», — заявила мать ребенка.

Zanon said that her son was offered medical assistance, but she refused.

«Нам сразу же после инцидента предложили медицинскую помощь, и мы действительно отказались, потому что я не представляю, что медик мог бы сделать на месте инцидента с уставшим и истощенным ребенком. Поэтому я решил следить за ним сама, пока не смогу показать малыша его врачу», — пояснила Занон.

Representative American Airlines stated that the company contacted the passenger to clarify the details of the incident and provide the necessary assistance.
