Rating of American airlines: from best to worst

Finding the best airline in the US can seem like a daunting task. Many are faced with the fact that, due to the small distance between the seats and the increase in baggage fees, flights become troublesome, having little in common with pleasure, writes Money.

The publication compared 9 largest US airline companies to determine the best and worst of them. Factors such as pricing, fees, customer experience, flight characteristics were taken into account.

1. Alaska Airlines

Average round trip price: $ 450

Average price per kilometer: $ 0.22

airlines Alaska Airlines, headquartered in Seattle, has long been very popular with Western travelers, but after the company bought it at the end of 2016, Virgin America, and its network has expanded considerably. The combined company is now considered the fifth largest airline in the United States.

Methodology

The ranking took into account the average fare, changes in ticket prices on an annualized basis, cost per kilometer, average time of departure and arrival, the number of canceled flights and failures in seats, change in baggage fees, customer satisfaction ratings by booking, check-in, boarding , in-flight service, food and beverage, entertainment, seat comfort, loyalty programs and total cost. Data was provided by: Airfarewatchdog, FlightStats, JD Power, Rome2rio, SkyTrax, Travel + Leisure and the US Department of Transportation.
