Gazprom wants to launch Turkish Stream in December 2016
The Russian and Turkish sides agreed to begin commissioning the Turkish Stream gas pipeline in December 2016, says the Gazprom information department.
The agreement was concluded following a meeting between Gazprom head Alexey Miller and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz on Thursday.
“An agreement was reached to begin commissioning and gas supplies via the Turkish Stream in December 2016. “Gazprom, in its schedule of work on the Turkish Stream project, will proceed from the agreements reached today,” the press service of the Russian gas holding quotes Miller’s statement.
According to the project, the capacity of the gas pipeline from Russia in the direction of Turkey through the Black Sea will be 63 billion cubic meters.
Miller previously stated that Turkish Stream should remove the risks of gas transit to the EU through Ukraine.
