FBI seeks 6-year-old autistic boy missing in North Carolina
On Tuesday, the FBI announced a reward of $ 10,000 for information about a missing six year old autistic boy who was last seen in a park in North Carolina on Saturday.
The Gastonia Police Department says that six-year-old Maddox Rich with nonverbal autism syndrome disappeared at about 1:00 pm on Saturday at Rankin Lake Park, located about 20 miles (32 kilometers) west of Charlotte, writes New York Post.
One of the boy's parents and two other adults walked near the lake in the park when Maddox ran away and disappeared from their field of vision. After the escort team couldn't find the boy on their own, they called 911.
Police are asking people who might be near the popular park on Saturday to try to remember any details that might help in finding the boy.
More than 20 services are involved in the search, and the Gastonia police use drones and check garbage containers in search of any possible place a child could hide.
Maddox is described as a child as tall as 4 feet (a little taller than 120 cm), weighs 45 pounds (20 kg), and has fair hair in the boy. When he was last seen, the boy was wearing an orange T-shirt with the words “I am the man” and black shorts with a white stripe.
Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Gastonia police via a special telephone line: 704-869-1075.
