Depardieu does not plan to receive Belarusian citizenship

The plans of the French actor Gerard Depardieu does not include obtaining Belarusian citizenship, the representative of the actor Arnaud Frille said. According to him, in Belarus, the actor is exclusively on working issues and will soon return to Russia.

“He has Russian citizenship, French citizenship - and so everything is fine. Belarus is another country, and here it is for work. Here we have a lot of projects, now we are shooting a big TV series, and then we will make a movie in Russia, ”explained Frille.

He added that the personal life of Gerard Depardieu does not interest his fans.

“Gerard Depardieu is an actor, and nobody’s interested in his personal life, only his professional activities,” added Frille.

In an interview with Le Figaro, he admitted that he wanted to sell all his property in France, since he no longer wants to be part of this country. The artist added that he does not like Europe because of politics and problems with migrants.

Depardieu I visited in Belarus and met with Alexander Lukashenko in July of this year. During the visit, he took a steam bath and tried local dishes. The head of state taught the actor how to mow the grass.

Depardieu is blacklisted in Kiev and deprived the right to visit Ukraine for five years for "anti-Ukrainian statements." The Ministry of Culture of the country explained that this measure is not related to films with the participation of the famous actor.

The ban was caused by Depardieu’s statements that he considers Ukraine to be part of Russia and the words about respect for Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, having already received Russian citizenship, Depardieu came to France, confessed his love for his native country, and called his departure to Russia a big misunderstanding.
