Pregnant McDonald's customer served detergent instead of latte

Sarah Douglas, who was 32-week pregnant, ordered a latte at McDonald's, located in Letbridge (Canada), but instead of a coffee drink, she was given a glass of detergent.

He ordered a drink on the drive-thru, got it and continued on her trip, but taking the first sip, the woman realized that something was wrong, she wrote Fox News.

The woman immediately stopped the car, spat out the liquid from her mouth and rinsed the mouth with water. After that, she opened the lid on the glass with a drink and was amazed to feel the sharp smell of detergent.

Douglas went back to McDonald's, in which she acquired an unusual latte, and demanded a meeting with the manager.

“I showed him my so-called coffee and he asked if I wanted a new drink, to which I replied: “Absolutely not, this is unacceptable.” I said I wanted to talk to his management, and he gave me his manager’s number,” the woman said.

An employee of the establishment explained to Douglas that the cleaning agent got into her coffee due to the fact that a bottle of chemicals was attached to the coffee machine to clean it, and the liquid was poured into a glass.

The woman took a photo of the bottle with a cleaning agent, because she was afraid that she had swallowed a small part of it, and wanted to be able to provide the doctors with information about the chemical she used.

The bottle with the tool contained warnings that it "causes serious eye irritation" and "may cause an allergic skin reaction." Also: “Keep out of the reach of children. Wear protective gloves / eye protection. "

Douglas turned to doctors for help, but a day after the incident, the woman felt good.

Dan Brown, who owns the McDonald's restaurant in which the incident occurred, apologized for what happened.

“McDonald's is renowned for its food safety protocols and I am sorry this happened at my restaurant in Lethbridge,” Brown said.

He explained that when cleaning the car, which is held every morning, they forgot to remove the bottle of detergent from the milk supply line when they were making a drink for Douglas.
