Belarusians celebrated the New Year holiday in New York: the bright photos.
About two hundred people gathered at the Ward Pound Ridge Park in New York State to celebrate the Kupalle holiday, revered by Eastern Slavs from time immemorial.

The majority of those present at the event were natives of Belarus, where the Kupala ceremonies have survived to this day. In order not to lose touch with their native culture, members of the Belarusian diaspora annually pay tribute to the tradition and get together on the eve of the Day of the Summer Solstice, said Irina Shumskaya, President of the Belarusian Educational League of America.
Two days spent in nature, were filled with fascinating forms of leisure and continuous communication. Guests sang songs and danced around a campfire, looked for a magic fern flower in the forest, participated in sports relay races, humorous games and Belarusian lessons, went hiking along forest paths and practiced yoga on the grass, treated themselves to traditional Belarusian dishes and bathed in the moonlight. The highlight of the event was the acoustic performance of the Belarusian-American project KAZINAK.
According to the majority, the organization of the holiday is becoming better and more diverse every year, for which one should thank the association “Pagonya” and the Internet community “Belarus and USA. Razam a frog. ”
