Trump extended US sanctions against Belarus
The United States extended the sanctions regime on Belarus to 16 on June 2020.
It is noted that restrictive measures are retained on the basis of the decree 2006 of the year.

In 2007, the United States imposed economic sanctions against Belarus. Then it was associated with irregularities in the elections and pressure on the opposition.
Sanctions, in particular, were directed against state petrochemical enterprises. They were announced on the basis of the “Act on Democracy in Belarus”, which was adopted by the US Congress.
Relations between Belarus and the West have recently improved markedly in connection with the participation of Minsk in resolving the conflict in the east of Ukraine. Due to this, in particular, has expanded staff of the US embassy in Minsk. The American side suspended the sanctions against a number of Belarusian enterprises, although a number of restrictions are still in effect.
