Baltimore covered with an acid cloud: people are asked not to leave the house

Chemicals leaked in South Baltimore, so residents were asked to close the windows and not leave their homes until further notice. This was written by the Baltimore Fire Department.

Baltimore's head of the fire department, Roman Clark, said 11 Newsthat the valve from the tanker separated from the trailer, causing a leakage at the factory Solvay Industries. The chemical is chlorsulfonic acid. It is usually colorless or yellowish, and can irritate the eyes, respiratory tract and skin.

Symptoms of inhalation of this acid include: sore throat, cough, heavy breathing, shortness of breath, redness and skin burns.

Ann-Arandel County School officials said schools in their area were not affected by the chemical spill.

At the time of writing, the accident still continued to be eliminated. No injuries were reported.
