Apple presented the iPhone 15 and other new products: what's special about them

On September 12, Apple unveiled new smartphones - iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max - during its annual September event in Cupertino, California. The keynote presentation, titled "Wonderlust," took place on Apple's campus in the Steve Jobs Theater.

The phones will feature Dynamic Island, a redesigned notch at the top of the screen that takes up less visual real estate, reports USAToday.

The feature was first added to iPhone 14 Pro models last year as a tool for tracking current activity, such as directions or the music you're listening to.

iPhone 15 debuts in five colors - black, blue, pink, white and yellow.

For the basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, the main camera module is now integral with the rear glass panel, which has a matte texture. The ends have become slightly rounded, which makes the smartphone more convenient, the company noted.

Otherwise, there are no fundamental external differences - the outline of the body and the location of the photomodules are identical to the previous generation. Except that new colors have appeared.

Both models feature 6,1-inch and 6,7-inch OLED displays with up to 2000 nits of brightness (double the previous level). They are protected by a Ceramic Shield coating, as it should be.

The main camera of smartphones is 48 megapixels (f/1.6) with optical image stabilization by matrix shift. There is support for 4K recording and “optical quality” digital XNUMXx zoom. Portrait mode has also been improved once again.

The second camera, apparently, has not changed - a 12 megapixel wide-angle. She was not given any attention at the presentation. As for the filling, here, as expected, there are Apple A16 Bionic processors, which last year were only available in the Pro versions.

In terms of autonomy, the manufacturer promises a full working day. And USB-C is now used for charging. The same port will appear in the company's headphones.

The iPhone 15 will start at $799, and the iPhone 15 Plus will start at $899.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be available for pre-order on September 15 and will be available online and in stores on September 22.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max

The new pro models feature a fresh 3nm A17 Pro chip. It has 19 billion transistors and a “breakthrough new GPU” with hardware support for ray tracing for top games. This chip will change mobile gaming, Apple believes.

By the end of 2023, Resident Evil Village, a remake of Resdent Evil 4 and Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released on smartphones.

Both flagships received titanium cases, a first in the series. This metal has made it possible to make smartphones thinner and lighter. The ends also have slight roundings, and the screen frame has become noticeably narrower.

Another change is the appearance of the Action button promised by insiders instead of the silent mode switch on the side. This button is, of course, customizable.

Displays - 6,1 and 6,7 inches. Everything is standard here: Super Retina XDR, ProMotion and Always-on display. Protection - Ceramic Shield.

The triple camera is based on a new, larger 48-megapixel sensor. Of course, it allows you to take even more detailed photos in low light. A mode for uncompressed ProRAW photos will also be available.

The second module is a new 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, which also serves for macro. And the third is a telephoto camera for optical zoom. True, it is different for Pro and Pro Max.

The set of cameras allows you to take photos at focal lengths from 13 to 120 mm, use 5x optical zoom (3x on the iPhone 15 Pro), and shoot spatial 3D video for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The iPhone 15 Pro will start at $999, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max will start at $119.

Sales start on September 22.

Apple Watch: Series 9

Apple also announced the newest Apple Watch model: Series 9. The major update comes with a new processor chip called the S9 SiP, which the company claims will be faster than the one introduced in 2020.

The Series 9 will be similar to previous models but will feature updated colors including pink, beige and silver.
