Andriy Danilko put Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce up for auction: money from the sale will go to help Ukraine

Ukrainian actor, singer and composer Andriy Danilko put Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce up for auction in the UK. He bought a car back in 2013, but was never able to import it into Ukraine. The proceeds from the auction will go to charity. Фокус.

A 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was auctioned at RM Sotheby's in London. The car belonged to Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury. The history of the car was told on the website of the auction house.

Freddie Mercury decided to buy a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in 1979. He himself did not drive a car, but used the services of a driver. On it, the Queen frontman also drove opera maiden Montserrat Caballe. After Mercury's death in 1991, his sister Kashmir inherited the car.

The current owner of the car is not listed on the website of the auction house, it is only known that he bought Freddie Mercury's Rolls-Royce in 2013. It is very likely that this is Andrei Danilko, because he previously admitted this.

The Ukrainian singer and producer said that he bought Freddie Mercury's car almost 10 years ago, but could not import it into Ukraine (obviously, there were difficulties with customs clearance of the old Rolls-Royce). All this time, Andrei Danilko was forced to pay for parking his car in London.

The fact that the car may belong to Danilko is evidenced by the fact that the proceeds from Rolls-Royce will be transferred to the needs of the Superhumans Center prosthetics and rehabilitation clinic in Lviv region.

Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was produced from 1965 to 1980. The large sedan is powered by a 6,75L 8-liter V192 and a 3-speed automatic transmission. Freddie Mercury's car is painted silver, and its interior is decorated with leather and wood.

The equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and a Sharp radio tape recorder. The mileage is about 100 thousand km, the original documents for the car and receipts from the service station are also preserved, where its owner is indicated.
