The American TV presenter said that he did not wash his hands for 10 years, because "germs do not exist." VIDEO
Fox News presenter, a Harvard and Princeton graduate, Pete Hegset said on the air that he hadn’t washed his hands for 10 for years because he didn’t believe in the existence of microbes.
Speaking to Fox and Friends, Hegset said that “infectious microorganisms do not exist because they cannot be seen” with the naked eye, quoting with the BBC. “This is my preventive vaccination,” he added.
His remarks came after co-presenters Ed Henry and Jadiah Beale ridiculed him for eating pizza leftovers.
“My 2019 promise is to say on air what I say off air,” Hegseth said.

His words were both supported and condemned by users on social networks.
Later Hegset told USA Today that his statements were taken as a joke.
“We live in a society where people walk around with bottles of Purell (hand sanitizer) in their pockets and they sanitize everything 19 times a day as if it will save their life,” he added. “I take care of myself and all that stuff, but I don’t focus on it all the time.”
Hegsed called it ridiculous to take his words so “literally and seriously” and even ridiculed it on the social network, posting a video with the question “Twitter, help me - is this the right technique?”

"... And I also support drinking from garden hoses and riding bicycles without a helmet."
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that regular hand washing "is one of the best ways to remove germs, prevent diseases, and transmit germs to other people."
According to a scientific study published by the US National Center for Biotechnology Information, one gram of human feces - about the weight of a paper clip - can contain a trillion microbes. Bacteria that can be spread by unwashed hands include salmonella and E. coli.
US President Donald Trump, who gave Fox more interviews than any other major network, has repeatedly recognized himself as a hermophobe.
In his book 1997, The Art of Return, Trump wrote:
“One of the curses of American society is a simple act of a handshake, and the more successful and famous you become, the worse this terrible custom becomes. I, it turns out, a fan of clean hands. I feel much better after washing my hands thoroughly, which I do as often as possible. ”
Some commentators have noted that hygiene obsession is also not very good and can reduce the natural resistance to microbes.
But, as reader Kevin Cook said: “If we don’t wash our hands for 10 for years, it will be a reckless disregard for the health of other people.”
