Kupale - It is without exaggeration the most beautiful and most favorite holiday of American Belarusians.. By tradition, about a hundred people of different ages from the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania gathered at this celebration in a picturesque park near Cross River, New York.

The event was organized by the online community. "Belarus ZSHA. Razam frog" together with the Belarusian association "Pagonya". Such events not only contribute to the preservation of national cultural characteristics, but also strengthen the bond between generations.

Summer Solstice It was widely celebrated in the last decade of June in various parts of Europe over several millennia. Its characteristic features are: praising the cult of the heyday of nature and fertility, symbolic purification through water (night bathing naked) and fire (jumping over the fire), ritual round dances, games and fortune telling, as well as searching the forest for a mystical fern flower, embodying good luck and happiness. As Christianity spread, these rituals became attached to the Nativity of John the Baptist (Ivan Kupala) and were also celebrated in early July.
