IRS agent accused of rape and trying to strangle the intern office

An Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agent in Boston, Massachusetts, is accused of raping a trainee in his company car after he offered to give the girl a ride to the train station after work.

44-year-old James Clark attacked an 21-year-old woman in a company car parked in the garage of the IRS office in Boston, writes The New York Post.

According to the investigation, Clark handcuffed the victim, threatened with service weapons, strangled and raped.

Then he took the girl to the station and again attacked her inside the car. She managed to escape, she called the police and after the incident she was in hospital for several days.

Clark's attorney, Michael Doolin, said that the married father of three children "adamantly denies" his guilt.

“He has been cooperating with the investigation since he was notified and he looks forward to seeing this case brought to trial and vindicated,” Doolin said.

The Boston police interrogated Clark and also took his car for analysis, but the defendant was not arrested.

According to law enforcement, this is a normal practice in investigations, when the suspect knows about the charges against him and does not try to escape.

The incident occurred in the summer of 2017, in November the IRS suspended Clark from his duties in the department.

The first court hearing on this case is scheduled for April 5.
