The cause of the crash of the Russian A321 aircraft over the Sinai was a terrorist attack with an improvised explosive device with a power of up to one kilogram in TNT. This was announced by the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the transcript of which is published on the Kremlin website.
“We can definitely say that this is a terrorist act,” Bortnikov said. According to him, traces of foreign-made explosives were found on the wreckage and belongings.

He explained that research was carried out on personal belongings, luggage and parts of the liner that crashed in Egypt on October 31.
