Experts ranked countries for the quality of education
In the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) annual global study on the quality of school education, five Asian countries are at the top of the list, with five African countries at the bottom.
The report is based on the results of exams in mathematics and scientific disciplines (biology, chemistry, physics), which 15-year-old students have taken in more than 70 countries.
Singapore takes first place in terms of quality of education, followed by Hong Kong and South Korea rounding out the top three. In last place, 76th, is Ghana. The USA ranks 28th on this list, Britain 20th. The top ten also included Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Canada.
Russia is in 34th place, Ukraine is in 38th.
According to the authors of the study, its goal is to find out how well-being and economic growth of a country are related to the quality of education offered by the country.
