California woman finds $36 in old couch she was given away for free
A California woman who got a sofa for free from a stranger online made the discovery of her life when she found $36 in cash hidden inside. New York Post.
Vicki Umodu, a San Bernardino County resident, said she was browsing Craigslist to buy furniture for her new home and found a few items someone was giving away for free.
“I thought, ‘Maybe this is a trick. But I called them,” said Umodu.

Later, the woman learned that the family was handing out furniture due to the recent death of a loved one.
“I just moved and I have nothing in the house. I was so excited, so we took the sofa and brought it," added Umodu.
However, after moving the sofa into her house, Umodu noticed something strange. Umodu said that $36 in cash was hidden under the pillow.
The California woman notified the family, offering to refund the money. The family then rewarded her for her honesty.
The family said they weren't sure why there was so much money in the couch, and they later discovered hundreds of dollars hidden in their home, according to the report.
