— Cambodia continued to lead the world in the number of drug-related deaths among US citizens.

— Last year, 15% of deaths were classified as “other” or “unknown.”

— More Americans are dying from drowning than from homicide (156 drownings vs. 144 homicides).

— The total does not include health-related deaths such as illness, heart attack or stroke.
