10 areas of colleges in which employers are most interested

In 2017, the number of employers willing to hire college graduates reached the limit over the 10-year period. According to the latest survey CareerBuilder, almost three quarters of employers this year are ready to hire college graduates. This is more than last year (67%).

“The competition for future graduates will be like nothing we have seen in the last 10 years,” says chief human resources officer CareerBuilder Rosemary Hefner.

Half of the employers surveyed are planning to offer college graduates a higher salary compared to 2016. Last year, this figure was at the level of 37%. And now 2 from 5 employers are ready to offer a starting salary of $ 50 thousand. 7 of 10 employers are open to salary negotiations.

45% of employers recruit employees among college graduates, only a quarter of companies target higher education. This year, every fourth employer who does not hire employees from college graduates said he needs more experienced employees.

Among those employers who are going to hire college graduates, the most sought-after are areas of business and technology.

Top-10 most sought after areas among employers is as follows:

1. Business.
2. Engineering.
3. Computer and information science.
4. Engineering technology.
5. Communication technology.
6. Mathematics and statistics.
7. Construction professions.
8. Medical professions and related clinical sciences.
9. Scientific technology.
10. Architecture and planning.
