A woman found a note from a Chinese prisoner in a wallet bought at Walmart
Arizona resident Laura Wallace said that she found in her wallet bought in Sierra vista walmart note in chinese. It was hidden inside the compartment with a zipper. The author of the note is a desperate prisoner from China.
Wallace asked for the note to be translated into English. There was the following message: “Prisoners at Yingshan Prison in Guangxi Province, China, work 14 hours a day without a break. They continue working overtime until 12 midnight. Anyone who doesn't finish the job will be beaten. Their food is without oil and salt. Every month, the warden pays the prisoner 2000 yuan. Any food that is not part of the regular diet is prohibited. If prisoners are sick and need medication, the cost will be deducted from their salary. A prison in China is not like a prison in America. People here are treated inhumanely.”
Wallace said she wants to share a note to draw attention to the problem.
В Walmart said they could not comment on this note because they had no way to verify the origin of the letter. “One of our requirements for suppliers is that labor must be voluntary,” the chain of stores said.
It is known that similar notes appeared in stores. Saks Fifth Avenue and K-Mart.
