The speech of Barack Obama and Donald Trump to reporters on the eve was very brief. The meeting took less than 3 minutes. But it turned out that the video of this speech can tell much more about the mood of politicians than their words.

Trump and Obama were extremely stingy with comments, it made journalists CNN turn to experts in facial expressions and gestures. Psychologists watched the video several times and came to the following conclusions. The first thing that caught my eye was that Trump almost always keeps his palms in a “house” position - his fingertips are together, his palms are apart. According to Janie Driver, a sign language expert, this shows Trump's attitude towards Obama. “It shows that he’s all ears, he’s respectful and respectful, he understands his power, but he holds it in his hands,” Driver says.

Another peculiarity is that during Trump’s speech, Barack Obama blinked very slowly. Usually this action takes a split second, but Obama seemed not to want to open his eyes and see the president-elect in front of him. Driver is sure that this is also indicative: “This suggests that the person who sits in front of him is unpleasant to him. It’s as if he doesn’t want to see him,” the expert believes.

In addition, she notes that Trump began the phrase several times, but did not sign it. This, according to the expert, suggests that these words should be treated with skepticism.
