Hackers broke into the database of one of the largest US insurance companies

Hackers broke into the database of the company Anthem Inc., one of the largest American companies providing health insurance services, and got access to the data of approximately 80 million customers, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Investigators still determine the extent of the invasion, which was discovered last week. According to the company, it is likely that tens of millions of records were stolen.

Anthem says hackers have gained access to customers' personal data (names, birthdays, addresses, and social security numbers), but medical information and financial details have been protected.
