In Florida, detained a boat, which sailed dozens of illegal immigrants
27 Cuban migrants who traveled to the coast of Florida in an improvised wooden boat with the hope of a better life were detained several hours after coming ashore.
The US Coast Guard reported that 27 migrants, including children, made it to the Virginia Keys on the Miami coast near 13: 30 on Sunday.
Residents who noticed the boat and people warned the police.
According to the migrants, they set sail on September 27. On the way, they got lost, and it took 10 days to get to the US coast in a tiny boat that they built by hand in three weeks.
The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that the first two people were detained near North Point Park.
The US Customs, Border Guard, and Miami police officers searched for migrants from the air and on land. Some roads in Miami were blocked during the search.
It is reported that 13 migrants needed help from paramedics at the scene, but none of them were sent to local hospitals.
A CBP spokesman told NBC Miami that 15 migrants have been detained and will be taken to Dania Beach border patrol station.
According to witnesses who had time to talk with some of the detainees, their goal was Key West.
