In Florida, a police officer threw a robber into banks with beans. VIDEO
A grocery store surveillance camera captured the moment when Major Jimmy Stanford from Bay City County was throwing cans of beans at a suspect, trying to neutralize a man with a hammer in this way.
Shane Tommy Ford County Sheriff and several other law enforcement officers arrived at the grocery store after receiving calls to 911 from a store where an armed man held people hostage. Law enforcement officers realized that in the hands of a man is not a pistol, but a hammer.
"We quickly realized he wasn't holding a gun, but we weren't entirely sure if he had a firearm," said Maj. Jimmy Stanford of Bay County.
Quickly orienting, the officer hit the suspect in the back with the first can of beans and then the second.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital, where he later tried to take the weapon from the policeman who was guarding him in the emergency room.
