This, in turn, increases the likelihood that parts of the federal government, including 9 from the 15 departments at the cabinet level and dozens of agencies, will cease operations at midnight on Friday.

Voting took place a few hours after Trump told the leaders of the Republican Party House of Representatives that he would not pass the bill passed by the Senate, which does not deal with financing.

Members of the conservative House of Freedom House, whose leaders tried their best to get Trump to defend the wall, said: “Republicans in Congress constantly tell Americans that we will fight to finance the wall, and today the House of Representatives has taken the first step to fulfill this promise.” . The Senate must follow our example. It’s time to do what we promised and work with President Trump and the American people to secure our borders. ”

Trump congratulated members of the Republican Chamber on Twitter late Thursday night, saying that he "is so proud of you all."

“Thank you to our GREAT Republican Congressmen for your VOTE for border security and wall funding,” he wrote. “The final tally was 217-185, and many said there was more enthusiasm than ever seen... Now on to the Senate!”

The Senate measure, which was approved Wednesday night, provided a total of 1,6 billion dollars to secure borders, but did not include funding for the border wall. Trump's allies warned him that he would have less leverage to demand funding for the wall after the Democrats took control of January 3 Chamber. In addition, they feared that Trump would not be able to fulfill his election promise and this would prevent his re-election.

After meeting with Trump in the White House earlier on Thursday, House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters, referring to Trump that he would not sign the bill without funding the wall.

The president posted threatening tweets and a stern statement from his spokesperson.

“I quite clearly expressed my opinion. Any document on the financing of the government’s work should include a border security clause, ”the president said in a speech at the White House on December 20.

Partial “shatdaun” may affect the work of several government agencies, including security agencies. Other organizations that could potentially be affected include an agency responsible for security at US airports, space and agricultural programs, a forest guard, and the US Department of State.
