San Francisco High Schools Plan to Distribute Condoms

The San Francisco Unified School District has been advised to begin distributing condoms to middle school students, reports San francisco examiner.

The initiative, which will be reviewed by the school district council, is aimed at combating early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

In addition, according to school inspectors who own this idea, it should be excluded from the rules that the possibility of refusing to receive contraceptives, which was the parents of high school students.

In 1991, a condom distribution program for high school students was first accepted in San Francisco schools, and in 1996, a clause was added to allow parents to exclude their child from this program. However, parents of students will be annually informed about changes in the program.

Condoms for educational institutions are reportedly provided by the San Francisco Department of Health, complete with instructions and additional information about their use.

Before receiving contraceptives, students should meet with a school social worker or a nurse in the Unified School District.
