In the New York Museum of Nicholas Roerich launched the "Russian Seasons"

Literary and musical salon "KRiK"

In October of this year, the so-called “Russian Seasons” started at the New York Museum of Nicholas Roerich. From this moment on, every second Thursday of the month, lovers of Russian literature and music will meet with well-known Russian-language writers and musicians living in the United States.

The project was initiated by the Russian-American publishing house KRiK Publishing House, which organized the eponymous literary and musical salon in the museum - in the transliteration “KRiK”. This idea was enthusiastically supported by the current leaders of the museum - its director Guido Trepsa and collection supervisor Dmitry Popov.

The ideological inspirers of the project, Gennady and Rick Katsov, consider it their main task to draw attention to the versatility of the talents of those who are called “Russians” in America, that is, people from the former USSR, or their descendants who have preserved the Russian language.

October 13 with a full house the opening of the first season. In the hall, literally, the apple had no place to fall. The event was attended by the writer and journalist Alexander Genis, whose work is known and loved by Russian-speaking readers in many countries of the world; world-famous clarinetist Julian Milkis is the only student of the legendary Benny Goodman, and pianist Alexander Izbizer, in 2007, called Radio Liberty "Man of the Year of Russian America."

The next event will take place on November 10. It will be attended by the laureate of the Russian Prize and the prestigious literary prize Moscow Score poet Vladimir Gandelsman, violinist Elena Perez, performing with the legendary Ray Charles in the White House, and again Alexander Izbizer, this time with a solo program.

In total, the first season is scheduled 9 evenings, the last of which will be held in June next year. It is already known that such famous writers as Marina Temkina, Anna Halberstadt, Grigory Starikovsky, Gennady Katsov, Slava Polishchuk, Gary Light, David and Maxim Shraera will take part in them; musicians Julia Zilberkvit, Vadim Neselovsky, Elena Kushnerova, Svetlana Gorokhovich, Yevgeny Pilyavina, Borislav Strulev and others, as well as Lera Auerbach, who will perform in two roles at once - a poet and a composer.
