On Tuesday, 23 in January, the supermarket chain announced an expansion of the free fruit distribution program in all of its 35 offices throughout the state.
Free fruit can be received by children under the age of 12 years, by providing a children's club card "Kids Club Card". The child must come with a guardian to get fruits, including bananas, clementines and apples.
For the first time, this program has earned in four stores ShopRite in Albany last summer. The company said the program aims to provide “healthy and prosperous learning,” as well as to enable children to enjoy shopping at grocery stores.
