In Moldova, prevented an attempt of the pro-Russian coup

Moldovan law enforcement authorities detained 13 people involved in the preparation of shares for the forcible seizure of power in the country. All of them are accused of terrorism and an attempt to change the state system.

Details about the plans of the terrorists were presented by the deputy head of the General Inspectorate of the Police of Moldova, Gheorghe Kavkalyuk, reports the own correspondent of "Ukrinform" in the Republic of Moldova.

“During the searches, military uniforms, a large amount of weapons and ammunition, tear gas cylinders, as well as topographic maps of the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, and the city of Balti were confiscated from the detainees. On the maps, circles were drawn around important government institutions that they planned to seize,” Kavkalyuk said.

According to him, the original members of the group planned to seize a military unit in the city of Balti and the local prison. Then, according to the developed plan, in order to provide themselves financially, they intended to seize the offices of large private companies.

The next item in terms of the criminal group was the seizure of apartments, where the police and other law enforcement agencies lived.

Kavkalyuk also noted that two of the detainees are citizens of Russia, and two are residents of the Donetsk region. All of them often visited the Transnistrian region of Moldova and the Donbass.

The day before, Moldovan law enforcement officers neutralized a criminal group that was planning to create another so-called “Novorossiya” - the Bessarabian Republic.

If the guilt of the detainees is proved, they, according to Moldovan law, face life imprisonment.
