In Manhattan, the couple committed suicide because of high medical bills
In Manhattan, a couple committed suicide because they could not pay their medical bills and get medical care. They left two suicide notes in which they asked to take care of their children.
The bodies of a 53 year old man and a 50 one year old woman were found on 33 Street between Park Madisson Avenue and Murray Hill. A man and a woman jumped out of a 9 window on the floor of an 17-storied office building near 5: 45, police said. The woman was found a note in which it was said: "Our children remained at the top, take care of them."
The man was found a note: "We have lived a wonderful life." As the source noted, the note also stated that "we both have health problems and we cannot afford medical care."
The Daily Mail reports that the couple committed suicide only a few hours after Republicans of the Senate began to consider a bill abolishing Obamacare. But three members of their own party, including Senator John McCain, voted against the bill, and it did not pass. Thus, for the time being, the Law on Accessible Medical Care continues to apply. Senator McCain said he voted against the bill because it’s irresponsible to take medical care from millions of Americans without a new plan to replace it.
