Los Angeles Health Department announces outbreak of hepatitis A.

At this point, 10 cases of the disease have been identified in the district, all of which are recorded in persons who live in shelters or do not have a place of residence.

It is noted that earlier in the neighboring districts of San Diego and Santa Cruz, an epidemic of the disease was recorded. There, at least 16 people died from hepatitis A. Over the past few months, more than 500 people have been reported in these districts.

Los Angeles residents are advised not to share their dishes, drinks, food, cigarettes and towels with anyone. It is also important to follow all the rules of hygiene: wash hands thoroughly, especially after visiting public places.

Recall that in connection with the difficult epidemiological situation, 1 September in San Diego County was declared a state of emergency. There have already been recorded 460 known cases of diseases, 16 of them led to death. In the district of Santa Cruz, authorities confirmed 70 infection cases.
