In Colorado, police shot dead a man who killed an attacker in his house
In Colorado, a man who had just killed an intruder in his home was mortally wounded by police after he was mistaken for a robber.
According to police in Aurora, Colorado, the officers reacted to a call on Monday, which came from a woman who claimed that a man had broken into her house.
The police described the incident as "a very chaotic and brutal scene." The officers heard gunshots in the house before they ran into an armed man.
The wounded man was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
After further investigation, Aurora police learned that a gunman lived in the home and had just killed an intruder before officers shot him.
“This is a very tragic story for everyone,” said Nick Metz, chief of police for the Aurora department.
Near the shooting site also found the injured minor. He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
A police officer at the time of the investigation was sent to administrative leave with pay, said a department that works in conjunction with the Denver Police Department in investigating the case.
