In Honduras, found traces of an unknown civilization

An archaeological expedition, returning from the jungles of Honduras, announced the discovery of the ruins of a city-state that belonged to the unknown science of the civilization of Central America. Rumors about this city have been around since the times of the Spanish conquistadors of the 16th century, and in local legends it was known as the “City of the Monkey God”.

The expedition consisted of scientists from the United States and Honduras, an engineer (lidar specialist), an anthropologist, an ethnobotanist, and 16 fighters from Honduran Special Forces who ensure safety research. Ruins discovered in La Mosquito - the region of Honduras, covered with impassable jungle. There, scientists examined and mapped walls, squares, burial mounds and a pyramid. These structures belonged to an unknown Indian culture, which flourished in the 1000-1400 years. Descendants (and robbers) never reached the city hidden by dense vegetation.

Scientists have discovered the 52 artifact, including stone seats, murals depicting snakes and vultures, as well as the head of a “human jaguar”. This is probably a fragment of the sculpture showing the shaman in an altered state of consciousness. All findings were documented, but scientists left them in place. The location of the city is kept secret (so that robbers do not destroy it).

The story of the discovery began in 2012, when a group of American archaeologists and cinematographers using a lidar (laser sonar) saw straight lines and rectangles under the cover of the La Mosquito jungle. Since such geometry does not occur in nature, the scientists decided that they had found the ruins of the city, and they were not mistaken.

According to the main hypothesis, these ruins belong to the legendary Ciudad Blanca (White City), about which Hernán Cortes wrote to the emperor Charles V. The conquistador heard from the locals that in the territory where Honduras is now located, there is a state hiding in it, which is equal to the Aztec riches.
