In Chicago, immigration agents raided arresting 156 aliens
Immigration agents (ICE) arrested 156 foreigners and individuals who violated immigration laws in the Chicago district of Chicago during a six-day raid that ended on Thursday.
During the operation, officers made arrests in the following 37 communities: Addison, Arlington Heights, Aurora, Bartlett, Berkeley, Berwyn, Blue Island, Bolingbrook, Bridgeview, Burbank, Carol Stream, Chicago, Chicago Ridge, Cicero, Des Plaines, Elgin, Hannover Park, Hoffman Estates, Geneva, Joliet, McHenry, Mt. Prospect, Naperville, Northfield, North Riverside, Orland Park, Palatine, Park City, Rolling Meadows, Rosemont, St. Charles, Stikney, Stone Park, Warrenville, Waukegan, West Chicago and Wheaton.
Of the 156 arrested, 74 had criminal convictions. Among them are 140 men and 9 women between the ages of 19 and 64.
The foreigners arrested during this operation are citizens of 11 countries: Mexico (125), Guatemala (10), Poland (6), El Salvador (4), Honduras (4), Philippines (2), Ecuador (1), Jamaica ( 1) 1), Jordan (1), Lithuania (1) and New Zealand (1).
Most of the foreigners arrested during this operation had criminal history of charges for the following crimes: physical violence, prostitution, criminal vehicle possession, dangerous drugs, domestic violence, drunk driving, drug-trafficking, theft burglary, murder, illegal entry, theft, obstruction of justice, the presence of marijuana, sexual abuse, coercion to sexual act and violation of the rules of the road zhnogo movement.
Fourteen of those arrested were illegal immigrants who received a deportation order.
Thirty-six immigrants re-entered the United States after they were deported, which is a criminal offense and faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
“ICE continues to face significant obstacles created by local officials that impede cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement,” said Ricardo Wong, Director Ero chicago. “Sanctuary cities not only provide refuge to illegal aliens, but also protect criminals. This operation was a great success for everyone in our communities.”
