18-year-old student disappeared from university in Chicago

Law enforcement officers began a search for an 18-year-old student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, who disappeared almost two weeks ago after a family landed her at the city’s train station.

Shalihu Ahmad was last seen on December 14 campus, a few hours after her parents dropped her off at a train station in Chicago, writes Fox News.

Ahmad's mother, Shetty Fatima Ahmad, said she had to pick up her daughter later that day, but she never came to the meeting place.

“We were supposed to meet at 18:30 pm on December 14, we were going to pick her up after class. She didn’t come to the meeting, and then we got worried,” said the mother of the missing girl, adding that she also failed to contact her daughter by phone or on social networks.

“I urge all people to help us find our daughter. Any information would really help us. We are so worried about her at the moment. Call us or 911 or the press if you have any information,” Ahmad said.

She added that she received information from the anonymous author that Shalih could be with her friends from the Philippine college community. A girlfriend's girlfriend said she saw her on campus on the day of the disappearance.

“A friend contacted us and said she saw her on campus around 10 or 11 am. We did not know where exactly she disappeared - at the station or at the university. So now we know that she has reached the university,” said Shetty Fatima Ahmad.

Chicago police in December 27 said it was looking for Shaliha, who is a newcomer to the University of Chicago, Illinois. Militiamen try to restore a route of movement of the girl. After the preliminary investigation of this case will be carried out, the police will issue a search leaflet.

Shaliha is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 110 pounds, has long black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a multi-colored jacket, blue jeans and a red hat. She was carrying a black bag.
