USCIS has accelerated the processing of applications for the replacement of temporary green cards with permanent ones

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has completed the reception and data entry for all I-751 forms (application for change in the status of temporary green card holders) received from 1 May to 9 September 2018.

All applicants must receive notification of the receipt by the Office of their applications before 22 October 2018, the press service of the USCIS said.

13 June 2018, the Service announced that the California Service Center was experiencing a delay in the initial data entry process indicated in its I-751 forms. After changing the place of filing I-751 forms from USCIS Service Centers to USCIS Lockbox facilities in September, the processing of applications accelerated, and on October 1, the agency completed the reception and entry of data on applications filed during the above period.

If you sent an I-751 form to a California service center from 1 May to 9 September 2018, and you still have not received notification of its receipt, do not send a duplicate duplicate of I-751 form. It can only be sent if you have received a rejection notice or are instructed to resend the form from a California service center.

If your two-year green card has expired and you have not received notice of receipt of your I-751 form, you can make an online appointment for that matter at the nearest USCIS office. If possible, bring evidence to this meeting that you sent the I-751 form via US Postal Service or delivery service. If you have any questions about this process, visit USCIS contact center.
